I can’t describe how excited I am for my recent living room decor Amazon finds. Joel and I are on the home stretch to finish renovating and decorating our living room. We have finally, finally, reached the part that I am most looking for, which is bringing the room together with decor and personal touches. I am beyond picky when it comes to decor. I’m picky because I want to mix and match affordable items with splurges, but I can’t always find just the right items that I’m looking for. This creates a hesitation where I wait, and wait, and wait until I find the perfect item, which sometimes feels like forever. On the other hand, I am done buying items trying to fill the space, because ultimately I get tired of them in three months, six months, or a year if I make it that far.
Shop all of my living room decor Amazon finds
Joel and I have renovated and re-renovated our living room to find the perfect aesthetic and style. You can see the phases of our living room here. I stopped buying items that I was not completely excited about, and I’m glad I waited because I have found a ton of items that I couldn’t be more excited to shop for and share with anyone else looking for modern home decor to decorate their living room. I’m not here to just fill a space with decor to fill it. I look for quality items that create a vibe.

LARGE BLACK CANDLE
I've said it before in a previous home decor post, but I am OBSESSED with this oversized black candle.
WHITE VASE
I have been eyeing this white vase. I wouldn't put anything in it and use it as a stand-alone decor piece, but that is just me. I love to use organic items that come in neutral tones, so greenery and items that feel like clutter are out for me.
TOM FORD COFFEE TABLE BOOK
This book is always in style and is a definite statement piece on a coffee table or for shelf styling. It's on the pricier side, but if you are investing in living room decor that you plan to keep around for a while, invest in items you love.
WOVEN BASKETS
These baskets can serve several purposes from accent decor that create a cozy aesthetic to actual baskets that hold sh*t. Ha.
WOODEN ACCENTS
Okay, let me be real. When I see the accent items on shelves and coffee tables such as chain-linked items and beads, I think they look stupid and have no purpose. I really prefer items that have a purpose as well as look decorative. However, a few chain-style items have actually grown on me lately, in particular these wooden chained circles on Amazon.
WOODEN ACCENT BOWL
This wooden accent bowl is so beautiful. As I mentioned, I typically prefer items that have multi-purpose and can be used as pretty decor as well as serve a functional purpose. However, wood accents in my opinion can be used to set a tone and create a natural atmosphere, which is a purpose within itself.
PALO SANTO STICK HOLDER
This palo santo holder is cute and would be great for placing on top of a book stack, placing it as an accent in the bathroom, or placing it on a kitchen shelf to grab a stick and add a natural scent to the room.
MODERN LAMP
I can be soooo picky about lamps. Joel and I started investing in high-priced lamps and pendant lights because we often find that the quality really does matter. Not only do they look better when you invest in quality lamps and lighting, but they are also easier to install, at least when it comes to overhead lighting. I'm not wasting money on cheap lamps anymore. This one caught my eye and it's one of the pricier items, but if I'm not replacing them every year from a lack of quality, then I am ultimately saving money in the long run by investing once.
WOODEN BENCH
Authentic wooden benches are just expensive. I've accepted it. However, they are also hard to come by in my experience, unless you live close enough to somewhere like Olive Ateliers, which I, unfortunately, do not, so whenever I find a bench regardless of price, I will link the heck out of it for anyone that shares the same taste in a quality rustic bench.
CASHMERE KUSH CANDLE
I have seen these candles circling on Amazon. I love the brand and think this black one is so aesthetic. It would fit in perfectly with modern living room decor on a coffee table or open shelves for styling.
FIRESIDE CHAIR
I have been obsessed with these fireside chairs ever since I sat in one while visiting my brother in New York. I cannot wait to add one or two of these to our living spaces. They may not fit in our current living room setup with our Feathers Sectional Sofa, but I plan to buy them for our second living room if they don't fit in the main one.

Which is the best way to decorate your home?
The best way to decorate your home depends on your personal preferences, lifestyle, and the overall vibe you want to create. Here are a few tips that can help you create a beautiful and comfortable living space:
DEFINE YOUR STYLE
Consider the style that resonates with you the most. It could be modern, traditional, eclectic, minimalist, or any other style that suits your taste. This will serve as a foundation for your decorating decisions.
COHESIVE COLOR PALETTE
Select a color palette that complements your style and creates a harmonious flow throughout your home. Stick to a few main colors and add accent colors for interest.
FOCUS ON FUNCTIONALITY
Ensure that your home decor not only looks good but also serves a purpose. Think about how you use each room and arrange furniture and decor accordingly.
MIX & MATCH
Don't be afraid to mix different textures, patterns, and materials. Combining various elements can add depth and character to your space.
NATURAL LIGHT
Utilize natural light to brighten up your home. Consider the placement of windows and use light-colored curtains or blinds to maximize the light.
PERSONAL TOUCHES
Display meaningful items and artwork that reflect your personality and experiences. Personal touches can make a space feel more welcoming and unique.
ORGANIZE
A clutter-free home looks more appealing and feels more relaxing. Keep your space tidy and organized to create a sense of order and calm.
SCALE & PROPORTION
Ensure that your furniture and decor fit well within the room's proportions. Avoid overcrowding or using items that are too small or too large for the space.
QUALITY PIECES
While it's tempting to go for cheap and temporary decor, investing in quality furniture and key pieces will stand the test of time and provide a more enduring appeal.
How do I get ideas to decorate my living room?
My favorite, and possibly the most obvious way to get ideas for decoring a specific room, is to get on Pinterest and make a board labeled Home Decor. Then create sections within that board for each specific room. If you're wondering what phrases to search for to find the inspiration that you are looking for, I would use words that describe the style that you think you might want. You could use words such as modern, neutral, natural, etc. Even if your taste refines as your search continues, it helps to have phrases to use as a starting point to get an idea of the search results and adjust as needed from there. For example, the word minimalist does not resonate with me, even though I love neutral colors and clean lines. The results from that search are not my vibe. Instead, I look for home decor that is neutral, cozy, natural and has Mediterranean or European influences.
