Okay, don’t get me wrong. I love a pumpkin spice latte, but there is a difference between enjoying the taste of pumpkin spice and wanting to bathe my home in it. I have a particular taste when it comes to decorating my home, and I hold the holidays to no less than those high standards. When I looked for fall decor 2021 inspiration, I looked for modern, cozy, and rich elements that transition my home into the new season without changing the overall aesthetic.
These items are my fall decor 2021 must-haves if you’re looking for a cozy, stylish, modern home for fall that isn’t basic.
If you love basic fall decor with pumpkins on everything, DO IT. I will say cheers to you with my pumpkin spice latte. I’m just here to give ideas beyond pumpkins on pillows and cute fall sayings. I look for more organic and natural decorating that still gives me all of the fall feels.
Modern + Sophicated Fall Decor 2021
This bowl is a beautiful, natural wood element to add to your home for rustic fall vibes. When I think of fall, I think of the natural colors of the outdoors. When you add wood and raw pieces, it brings some of that comfort of fall you feel happening around you from the outside.
Throw blankets and pillows are a great way to add cozy textures to your home. You can toss them on the couch, over chairs, and they don't have to look perfect to feel cozy. You can also elevate your bedroom by adding a throw blanket or chunky knit across the end of your bed as the seasons change and start getting cooler.
If you light your candles with matches, why not have a jar of them stylishly sitting where you showcase your candles. This acts as both functional and decorative decor. I bought black matches for the fall and Halloween vibe.
If you want to make your candles last longer, buy this inexpensive candle care set and keep it sitting out as decor, as long as there are no small children within reach! I keep this sitting up high, but the black modern pieces are a detail that you can add next to your candles.
I LOVE beeswax candles and prefer to stay away from paraffin wax that most candles are produced from. These beeswax candles are a natural fall color and the perfect addition to your dining table or credenza. You can use them for decorative purposes or burn them.
How stylish are these black textured pillar holders from Amazon! You can buy white or black pillar candles to place on top and use them in your dining or living room for moody fall decor.
Black Anthropologie candle? Enough said. I love Anthropologie candles and appreciate that a lot of their candles are made from natural wax blends. I wanted to add this candle into the mix as it can be used all year round, especially around fall and Halloween.
CRATE & BARREL
These modern vases can be used with or without something in them. You can place them next to a classy orange pumpkin if you like some of the traditional, yet modern vibes of fall. These would be great sitting next to or on top of a stack of decorative books.
This interior design book is so cozy and a perfect addition to your coffee table for fall. It embraces all of the fall feels, and it's more than just a book for show. I have started reading it and the author walks through a lot of elements that I myself hold true for my own home when decorating.
This wooden pedestal bowl at H&M is a dream. It's rich looking and brings the look of raw elements from the outdoors. You can add white pumpkins if you like a little more of the pumpkin vibe, or you can keep it very modern and add decorative items like this into the bowl. Don't be afraid to pick and choose if you do and don't like specific pieces from a package of bowl filler!
These flameless wax pumpkins are the closest that I come to cute Halloween and fall decor. The orange is just enough rustic, and I love anything white. I would put these anywhere in my home.
I love the look of crisp black matte dishes, especially CB2's collection. I have them in white and have slowly started transitioning to black as well. These can be used on your table to transition to the new season and can be layer started with plates, working your way up to bowls for a styled look. If you have small children as I do, I typically set out a full tablescape when hosting friends and keep it simple the rest of the week for tiny hands.
How cute are these bats?! I saw them circling everywhere on Instagram last year and I saved them for this year. We are finishing an exterior renovation project in the front, just in time to set out my fall decorations on the porch. These will absolutely be making the cut!
